The Gander Mountain location in Fenton is expected to stay open under investor Marcus Lemonis' latest plan.

Investor and CNBC star Marcus Lemonis has tweeted plans to build a new Gander Mountain location in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Lemonis, who purchased part of the outdoor retailer this spring, also tweeted Monday that he plans to keep open the Gander Mountain locations in Chesterfield, Fenton and O'Fallon, Illinois.

In early June Lemonis posted an updated list of stores that only included the Chesterfield and Fenton locations. The O'Fallon, Illinois, store was not included, but Lemonis said the stores that didn't make that list weren't necessarily closing.

O'Fallon, Illinois, was on a list of 36 cities that Lemonis posted this week that could see a new store. He also announced that the company would change its name to Gander Outdoors and Lemonis introduced a new logo.

Earlier this year, Lemonis and Camping World Holdings Inc. (an RV dealership chain he controls) bought Gander Mountain's intellectual property, the brand and the rights to its leases. A group of liquidators bought the inventory and sold it in many going-out-of-business sales.

Chesterfield Blue Valley Commences Construction on Pecan Legacy Park

September 13, 2016 – Chesterfield Blue Valley, LLC (CBV) announces that construction of Pecan Legacy Park has commenced at the CBV development in the City of Chesterfield.  The half-acre park is located adjacent to Blue Valley Avenue near the intersection with Outlet Boulevard.  The purpose of the park is to protect and preserve the 124 year old pecan tree.  The tree has a trunk circumference of over 14 feet, a height estimated at 70 feet, and limbs that extend 60 feet from the trunk base in all directions.  An 80 foot flag pole equipped as a lightning arrester will protect the monarch tree from lightning strikes.  Three smaller trees will be preserved as well which grew from the pecan nuts of the original tree.

“The park was an important part of CBV’s contract to purchase the last 5.3 acres of land completing CBV’s assembly of property for the 132 contiguous acre development,” said Dean Wolfe, Manager of the CBV development.  “The project also satisfies the requirements of our PCD zoning and fulfills the intent of the City of Chesterfield’s tree ordinance to preserve “monarch” trees.”

The park site is in a basin at original grade elevations.  The perimeter sidewalk is five-foot wide exposed aggregate that will frame the total park area.  Low rosetta stone retaining walls are located on two sides of the park topped by a decorative fence.  Three grand staircases provide access to the interior areas which are covered with grass pavers, decorative rock, and lush landscaping.  Over 2,650 plantings of potted perennials are planned to complete the park’s environment that focuses on the monarch pecan tree.  The two grass paver areas are suitable for gathering and events that can be scheduled, and will accommodate tents, if required.

Construction of the park will be complete in mid-October.
